The Flex Corporate and Raglan sofa both received the Best of NeoCon Gold Award in 2014, the highest distinction in their respective Conference Seating and Sofa and Lounge categories. Jasper Morrison’s Unos chair won a Silver Award in the category of Stackable Chairs.
Considered the Oscar of American design, the competition serves as a barometer of the state of industrial design. The Best of NeoCon Awards are the most recognized prize of the U.S. market and has a prestigious reputation throughout the world. These awards are presented during the NeoCon tradeshow, the most important exhibition of the American furniture and home industries. The annual event gathers over 40,000 visitors and 700 exhibitors at the Chicago Merchandise Mart, where Andreu World has a permanent showroom.
In 2014, the Best of NeoCon jury awarded the Flex Corporate Collection, designed by Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, the Gold Award for the best chair in the Conference Seating category. His design was expressly created for extended use in public spaces, additionally the piece is ergonomic, innovative and comfortable. These are all of the features that convinced the jury which is comprised of members from 45 industry companies as well as representatives of government institutions, interior designers, architects, and specifiers responsible for the selection and purchase of furniture.
The Raglan sofa also received a Gold Award in the category of Sofas and Lounges. It is a modular sofa designed for collaboration areas and is appropriate for corporate, public and private environments.
The Unos chair, by Jasper Morrison, was the third win for Andreu World, earning a Silver Award in the Stacking Chair category.
A total of 810 products from over 300 manufacturers, organized into 40 product categories, participated in the 2014 edition of the Best of NeoCon Awards. The competition is sponsored by the American magazine Contract Magazine, Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc., the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), the International Facility Management Association and McMorrowReport.com.
