Sitting well in front of a good plate is synonymous with enjoying. An idea shared by chefs and designers to turn a space, the restaurant, into a unique experience in every way. Gastronomy and design have a lot in common. With that goal, within the Madrid Design Festival, Andreu World has presented an expanded edition of the book "Eat well sitting" -published now by the publisher Planet Gastro- in which it is shown that design and cooking have much in common.
The presentation ceremony -which took place on February 14- had as its framework the Official College of Architects (COAM) and counted with the participation of the cooks Hermanos Torres; Daniel Fernández, President of EDHASA and renowned gourmet; besides Álvaro Castro, author of the texts of the book.
At the end of the event, an exhibition was inaugurated with designs by Patricia Urquiola, Jasper Morrison, Lievore Altherr Molina, Piergiorgio Cazzaniga and William Sawaya, produced by Andreu World, which can be found in restaurants around the world and can be eaten very well seated.
The publication includes fifty restaurants from around the world projected by top professionals: Norman Foster, Frank Gehry, Conran and Partners, Carlos and Borja Ferrater, Andrés Alfaro Hoffman, Fernando Amat and Jordi Tió, Cul de Sac, Javier Mariscal and Fernando Salas , Francesc Rifé, Juli Capella or Patricia Urquiola among others.
The chefs that have participated are: Albert Raurich, Carme Ruscalleda, Paco Pérez, Eneko Atxa, Rafa Soler, Quique Dacosta, Andreas Caminada, José Andrés, Torres Brothers, Ángel León, Aurelio Morales, Gastón Acurio, Ricardo Sanz, Ricard Camarena and Bernd H. Knöller.
Edited by Andreu World and published by Planeta Gastro, it has been conceived and directed by Ramón Úbeda, it has been written by the journalist Álvaro Castro and it contains the illustrations of Antonio Solaz.
