(1955, Cordoba, Spain) is an architect trained at Madrid’s Escuela Superior de Arquitectura. For the last two decades, he has directed and leads Rafael de La-Hoz Arquitectos
, a multidisciplinary architecture studio founded in 1920, which is a benchmark in Spain and has great international projection.
From its headquarters in Madrid, Spain, the studio uses design to create dynamic and relevant spaces and is recognized for its exceptional architecture, which is committed to innovation, sustainability and excellence, always with a focus on the habitability of spaces. The experience and knowledge accumulated during these years have allowed the development of more than 500 projects in 20 different countries.

Among them the MIPIM Award “to the best building in the world”, Buenos Aires Biennial’s Premio Obra Internacional, the Chicago Athenaeum’s American Architecture Award (USA), the nomination for the European Union’s Prize for Contemporary Architecture, the 2015 Mies Van der Rohe prize, 3 Diamond Mitsubishi Award for Innovation and the 2017 Design & Health Academy Award for the Hospital of the Future.
Medal of the Superior Council of Colleges of Architects of Spain, Member of the RIBA, President of the Advisory Council of the Cajasur Cultural Foundation, Patron of the Contemporary Architecture Foundation and member of the Editorial Council of the German magazine The New Arch, he has been invited as a juror and lecturer by different institutions and universities such as the Federal Institute of Technology ETH in Zurich, the Tongji University in Shanghai, l’Ecole Nationale d'Architecture in Rabat and the AEDES Gallery in Berlin.
