I'm from United States and I do not have a passport number. Can I still register?

Yes you can still register. You can use your drivers license number.

How do I get in contact with the competition's organizer?

For any questions about a submitted project, the correspondence must include the participation number and email used for registration.

What size is 1:5 scale?

All models submitted must be scaled at 1:5.

It is a proportional reproduction smaller than the actual chair or table design size. If the chair measures 52x46x83 cm, 1:5 scale would be 10x9x17 cm (52 divided by 5, 46/5 and 83/5).

Will the projects be returned? When?


The presented works can be taken away by their authors in the Andreu World building from February 3rd 2019 until February 28th 2020.

Contest participants must provide advance notice of at least three business days in order for Andreu World to pack the projects for their transport.

What are the prizes?

1st prize of 4000 euros

We have a design studio. Can we enter the competition?

Yes, you can. There is no objection subject to compliance with the requirements of the briefing and complete the registration on our website, indicating the names of the people who will be signing the project.

What is the registration procedure for groups?

One member of the group should complete the aplication form with all his/her details, obtaining the participant number required for entry.

Can I register by another method other than the internet?

No. The only way to register is by completing the online aplication form on the website.

If I participated in the competition last year, can I compete again this year?

Yes, It is not necessary to register again. You just have to sign with your details on the website and request a new number of contestant.

What is A4?

A4 is a standard paper size measuring 52x46x83 cm (for U.S. submissions, 8.5x11 inches).

What materials should I sent?

-Model 1:5 scale.
-Image, photograph or rendering of project in A4 size.
-Dossier, A4 size (8 ½” x 11” for projects from the U.S.) with maximum of 4 pages.
-CD or USB with drawings, plans, sketches and anything the participant considers relevant.

All documents must be marked with your participant number (including the packaging in which it is sent).

Add your name only to the packaging, not to the contents of your project, please.

Technical report

An A4 size (8 ½” x 11”) dossier of maximum of 4 pages is required with all submissions. This technical report can be made in your own style utilizing text and images. The inclusion of personal information in this document is strictly prohibited and is reason for exclusion from the contest.

At minimum, the technical report must contain the following:

  • Participant number
  • Image of design
  • Design description

The report may also include any of these items:

  • Project name
  • Seating or table objectives
  • Production costs
  • Compliance with intended functions
  • Ergonomics
  • Innovative elements
  • Any information that the participant believes can improve the project

The following information is prohibited:

  • Personal or studio name(s), this includes logos
  • Personal address
What is the closing date for receipt of projects?

29th of November 2019.

How should projects be sent?

By the most appropriate and the safest means of transportation possible, or delivered in person to our facilities.

Each entrant must pay the costs of postage and packaging when sending their project to our facilities. No unpaid freight will be accepted.

Should my name appear on the project?

Your name should not appear on the project or on any material presented.

The participant number from your project is the only number that should appear on the prototype and the material being presented.

Can I enter more than one project for the competition?

Sure. No problem. The only requirement is that you have to obtain an identification number for each model you present.

Can I simply present a CD with 3D designs and renders of my project?


A 1:5 scale prototype must be presented.

A CD or USB with 3D models and renders may be presented together with the project’s technical report.

What happens if my project arrives after the closing date for entries?

If your project arrives after the closing date of the contest, it may be kept for the following edition if you wish.

First of all, if this happens, you will be informed. Subsequently, your project may be kept for the following edition.

What should I keep in mind when mailing my entry?

In the case of the entries and collected international projects, some courier companies require the participant have a customer number to make payment for the transport.

In addition to the cost from the courier company, there may be costs incurred for customs.

These customs costs depend directly on the commercial value of the content and the project.

Andreu World, SA will not manage and will not pay for the costs arising from the transport, taxes, customs fees, etc.

If my prototype arrives in poor condition or damaged during transportation, will I be disqualified?


All models received, providing they fulfil all our requirements, can take part in the competition regardless of the state in which they arrive.

However, Andreu World, S.A. shall not be responsible for the state or condition of scale models resulting from problems during transportation.

In order to ensure that models arrive in the best possible condition, we recommend that you send your project in impact-resistant packaging with appropriate cushioning against accidents (a box made from reinforced cardboard, for example).

In no case should your project be allowed to come into contact with the walls of the box.

Can I make my model in a material that is different than what is indicated in the briefing?


You can make your model in any other material that resembles wood listed in the briefing or components of the actual pieces. For example card board, plastic, resin, ...

Will project boxes and packages be saved or returned?


Project boxes and packages, as well as any protection and padding, will be disposed in the preparation of the model for the jury’s deliberation.

Can I name my project?

Yes. In addition to labeling your documentation and model with the participation number, you can assign a name to your project.

Remember that the following information should not appear in the documentation: name, pseudonym or any personal identifications (or that of the design studio).
