The new and welcoming Sonos office in Boston

In recent years the Sonos has been at the forefront of the wireless speaker market making a name for themselves by taking innovation to the next level.  Their new offices in Boston had to be as state-of-the-art as the audio products they sell.

To achieve that goal, Sonos contracted IA Interior Architects who carefully analyzed the manner in which the brand operates and how the people work in order to create a new vision for their workplace.  Based on the people’s experience and the well-being of their employees, Sonos’ new offices sought to integrate the home, shop-retail and workspace into a flexible environment where acoustics excel, all of which led to this new space that they now call home.

The new offices pay special attention to flexible spaces to facilitate different styles of work and collaborations between local employees and their subsidiaries around the world.  The office also needed an audio-visual engineering laboratory with exceptional acoustics.

Also key,Sonos products had to be displayed in real environments to do market research. For these environments, an iconic design in wood was chosen. Patricia Urquiola’s Nub armchairs, in white lacquered and wood base, fit perfectly for the dining and leisure areas.  Next to them, there is an area tall Smile barstools in the same tone.

The result is a very livable and warm office, with sustainable wood furniture, but without losing the demands of strength and durability that these spaces require.
