The Leading Brands of Spain Forum and the Office of the High Commissioner of the Government for Marca España gave recognition to the work of Marca España Friends and Friends of Spanish Brands in Belgium in an event held on 27 November.
The event, organised by the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg, was attended by Belgian individuals, companies and organisations that helped strengthen Spain’s image in the country and lent support to Spanish brands.
Likewise, Belgian people or companies closely linked to Spanish firms such us Andreu World, Freixenet, Cosentino, Lladró, Fermax, and so on – were given recognition as Friends of Spanish Brands.
They were Anne-Elise Jardinet (Keep It Quiet); Jean-Luc Muri; Eric Le Paige; Tim Culot (Louis Culot) and Jean-Pierre Piret (Abyz BVBA). They all got statuettes designed by Lladró, symbolising Spain and Belgium’s friendship.
Belgium is the eighth largest buyer of Spanish products, with imports from Spain amounting to nearly 6644 million euro in 2015 (2.7% of Spain’s total exports).
