For the 2015 Design Contest we have enlisted the creativity of designers, the precisions of architects and the prestige of one of Spain’s most popular decoration and lifestyle magazines.
The XV Andreu World International Design Contest will feature a prestigious jury of international professionals from the fields of architecture, design, interior design and the press. Architects Carlos Ferrater, Fernando Salas and Guzman de Yarza, Director of the Master in Work Space Design at IE School of Architecture and Design, journalist Pilar Barrio, Editor in Chief of Nuevo Estilo magazine (Hearst Magazines) and Marta Fernandez Castro, patron of the Architecture Foundation and Society will be responsible for choosing the winners of this year’s edition.
This year projects can be submitted until November 30th. Both students and design professionals, regardless of age, are encouraged to participate. The objective of the competition is to design a seat or table with particular attention to this year’s themes of innovation, functionality, comfort and sustainability as well as cutting-edge contributions in design and manufacturing process for each of the pieces.
The contest will award a first price of 3,000 euros (4,000 USD) and a second prize of 1,000 euros (1,500 USD). Additionally, four honorable mentions will be presented to the best designs.
